Sorrows Furnace was one of the reasons Factions was delayed so much. I doubt anything like that will happen in Cantha.

ANET is a business and some of their business needs require continued sales to former established customers. Might I ask why the hostility for more skills for the Assassin and Ritualist. Why is this an unreasonable request? If ANET were to offer a few more skills to the SIN and RIT would it now entice thoes players who are exclusive with thier SIN and RIT's. You don't have to have 25 skills to appease these players even 5-10 and 1-3 Elites would be reasonable and marketable.
It isn't hostility. It is common sense.

Unique professions will get no support (armor/weapons/skills/etc) in other chapters that introduce new unique professions.

Do you only play Assassin or Ritualist? Even if only having Factions they get 4 slots. Enough for Assassin, Ritualist, and 2 core classes, plus they can buy more slots if they want. They can still play all their characters in Nightfall and pick up new 2ndary skills unless they are A/Rt or Rt/A of course.

The enticement to play Nightfall is the 2 unique professions, Dervish and Paragon. Don't like them? Don't buy it.

they don't but ritualist's staves do drop in tyria, I can only think that they may be added in another campaign to not overload on the profession boat so to speak and then in that specific campaign they will have new skills however that is just hopeful thinking on my part.

True, but let's not forget that "PC Format" somehow got the notion the Nightfall pve preview was Sep 2. I'll believe it when I log into Nightfall and see it.

well, i think they should buff some of the sin an rits skills cause what i saw in the nightfall preview the paragon and dervish classes are quite powerfull. it also seems like the 2 new classes had more effort in creating them unlike sins and rits

I saw the post about it on GWO and yeah, he mentioned there will be new skills for the Ritualist and Assassin profession. All from what the poster read in PCGamer.

I'm thinking that they might update the Factions campaign with new Rit and 'Sin skills when Nightfall is release and not have those skills available in the Nightfall campaign. Because it would not make any sense to have Rit and 'Sin skills available in Elona when they are "unique" (chapter-specific or whatever) to Cantha. But we'll see how it goes in the PvE Preview Event, I guess.

Good designers learn from their mistakes and the SIN had some serious mistakes. Truthfully there were some good teleport skills but few exceptional ones. AoD is nice but not something that truly separates this class from any other. Anyone can AoD since this skill is not limited to a school of magic within the class. Critical strikes are nice however it lacks the depth it could have. Perhaps allowing Critical Strikes an additional 1% on top of the Dagger Mastery for a double strike would make this attribute more valuable for a Pure SIN instead of the many Ranger/SIN's I’ve seen that appear more effective. However this would not be implemented so the next best thing would be to add skills to this attribute, after all it would be logical.

The Ritualist had some good concepts but nothing truly great. It was still second best at many roles, nuker, healer, protector, and warrior booster, and only did one thing better then any other class in the form of passive protection via spirits. Even those builds were limited. The Ritualist on its own still has much potential for weapon spells, Item Creation, Summoning spells, and Channeling abilities that no other class can master. I hope the evolution of this class will draw many a player to Factions for purchase.

If what the above poster said is true with more skills for the SIN and RIT then ANET shows us everything has room and potential to grow in their expanding MMO. I am looking forward to playing the fruits of their labor and seeing what they come up with.

Yes it would because of the power of Marketing. Take a busniess class sometime you might learn how the real world operates. GREED! you want the new skills for the SIN and RIT you can have them. Here buy this game and you'll get em.

In the end you will have to say "GloryFox you were right all along"

Maybe, just maybe, when you buy Nightfall it will also come with a "mini-expansion" for the Factions campaign (for those who own it) that includes the new Rit and 'Sin skills once you add in the key. Still can't see Rit and 'Sin skills being available in Elona for Canthan-unique professions, a bit confusing. So yeah, if you want the new skills for Ritualist and/or Assassin, you have to buy Nightfall (coming in mini-expansion form). :|

Unless they might come up with some kind of story on how you see those skills if available in Elona.

Well once again for the umpteenth time "The Emperor has been seen in Elona." Although this is not a shock for me I hope it will shock all those who deleted their Assassins and Ritualist because of someone’s false rumors. I also hope it will shock all of those who told the dreamers to shut up and stop asking for SIN and RIT skills.

I didn't mean majorly involving with the main storyline (but maybe we could see one), I meant some small separate story such as a Canthan trainer migrated to Elona some time before the current events. That's why we see some new Ritualist and Assassin skills available in that continent.

And I think seeing the Emporer in that ingame cinematic wasn't meant to indicate new skills for the Rit and 'Sin. They could have been doing the same thing like they did with Tyrian characters traveling to Cantha and vice versa, through a quest. So the Emporer is helping us travel to Elona to find out what evil has emerged because of what happened during the Dragon Festival.

I highly doubt anet will create new jobs every new campagin they add. I'm thinking they will update non core profession jobs in new campaigns as they come along, like maybe after the release of Nightfalls/Paragons and Dervish, they might go back to Sin and Rit and update them for the next campaign whatever that may be.

you obviously just arent very good at channeling (im having the time of my life with my new channeling build!)

and restoration is almost overpowered for someone who knows what they are doing.

your optimism is surely appreciated by the ones who are expecting to see rit/ass skills in Elona... lol

not gonna happen tho.

If anything (ive posted this idea before), we MIGHT see some new skills to the 'unique' classes some time after chapter 4.... because then there will be the 6 cores and the 6 uniques, which is almost like a secondary-core...

and that is ME being optimistic lol
